CCP
I would like to propose a change to EVE Game play.
Topic: Private sessions while running missions.
When running missions I am being interfered with by real players. This is not equitable and seriously takes away from the pleasure of the game. To interfere with a private mission is only to be a nuisance and I do not see how it can support the natural economics of the game (which I consider to be great except for this discrepancy).
Some missions are challenging enough and then to be ganked by a group of 12 year old kids is just rediculous. For what economic purpose would this be allowed?
For instance I am playing a storyline mission to raise faction level. What purpose does it serve to be blocked by independant players? When I enter missions I dont want to pvp.
A fight is easy enough to find on EVE let them go elsewhere.
In the meantime I have a lvl 3 agent to complete a storyline mission for. What do I need to do wait for this group to go to bed? rediculous..
Anyway.. you have a great game here, lets make it better by keeping missions between the enemy that was intended and the account holder and his fleet ONLY..
World of Warcraft offers this type of instance so I know it is possible.
Thanks for your consideration, ZFF
The last instance cost me about 300mil isk.. nonsense

Erdiere,
Normally your reply would be an intelligent response. Missions are not normal game play so your answer does not apply. This was a storyline mission do you think being ganked by 5 kids was part of the story ? < think about it
Oh btw they wanted 60mil to let me complete.. how absurd.. lol Now if these folks block me from completing on time do you think that is equitable? I call it interference with game play.
The reason this problem exists is not due to benefit of an open universe or game mechanics.. tis just an improvement that hasnt been made yet.. Common sense tells me missions and storylines should be private.
Wow doesnt impress me and neither does your logic, think about what you are saying more in depth and then lets talk again..
Are you CCP im trying to get this message to CCP .. I dont have desire to just "chat" about it..

Topic: Game policy û private missions.
Onys,
You have a right to your opinion (read: your opinion) and I agreed with most of your comments except in the area of missions.
To clarify, my opinion of Eve's competitive model as a whole is with only the highest regard. I am speaking of making missions private only..
I am stating that eve appears to have several functional areas: 1. Normal Play (MMORPG (flagged for pvp always)). 2. Training and Learning. 3. Missions.
I was stating the opinion that more control over the missions #3 could perhaps be helpful to promote better game play.
The following is some of the logic that drives my opinion for change. 1. If someone is running a level 3 mission and a gang of senior players come in and destroy the mission what is the level of difficulty then? 2. Missions appear to be incremental in difficulty thereby helping build junior players skillsets. 3. To control difficulty levels external interference will have to be stopped..
To Adress WillageGirl: 4. Are we to compete to train also? Will we have to fight for our books and our time slots to train? Or along the same lines will I be able to purchase faction standing ... I think the answer is no to all of the above leaving the pure competition model > OUT. 5. We dont per se compete for missions and they are awarded to a player so why would he not be eligible to recieve payment for his work? The rewards are equal for everyone who runs the missions. IÆm not saying there shouldnÆt be a limit on plays. 6. In the world im suggesting there would be no SEC rating on a mission they would all be private. (Sec rating only deals with outside real players)
The model im suggeting above exists today elsewhere, So I know it has merit.
The reason I began this thread was due to the discovery of a group of players who have a sensor / scanner array to monitor a mission area. As soon as someone is in the mission the gang pops in and hands them their lunch. I donÆt think CCP intended for the game to be exploited such as this. The actions of the above group has rendered the mission extremely difficult or impossible to complete the level 3 mission.

To answer some replies:
I know why I got shot in the current world and with current world rules it is allowed.. This is not what my posting was about.
Read my post carefully.. it examines the fairness of having missions interfered with.. and offers a reasonable solution.
Sigras - I was in low sec thats why I got ganked. ^^ read above ^^
WillageG - Thanks for your response but we have a gap in opinion that is just life. I like the fervor with which you debate but your logic is broken (perverted? )
Response to your paragraph #1 The player did not gain unfair advantage to the agent.. the smart player found the best agent by strategically working towards him or her. In other words the player courted the correct corp. and associated agents and then worked his azz off. Also, everyone can use the same agent so there is total equality in this topic.. Your point is moot.
Response to your paragraph #2 WillageG your response did not match the point I was inferring with the training example. I was creating a scenario for contrast - training, is it fair that I can train any skill that I want off to the side with no interference? My answer is YES. In your model of total competition the answer would be NO yet you break your own model to fit your argument.. To support total competition (your view) we would need to (pick one) vie for control of time slots to support your views of suppression. In other words outside people should have the right to quell ones training according to your logic. Strange it doesnÆt apply here in your opinion. For example I could say is it fair that you should be allowed to disappear for a month and emerge with superior weapons skills and I cannot stop you? There are skills that also increase earnings and cut costs so training has economic and resource advantage as well.
Do you see the similarities in the merit of missions to the above analogy?
I am confused by a disjoint in your logic here. One area you support no or little competition and the other you support total competition. The subject area bounds, rewards and concepts are similar.. So should be the administration thereof.
Personally I feel you are supporting popular opinion for whatever reason, logical or not.. ItÆs hard to be wrong in the eyes of popularity and a fun position to take however, I like the other path of discovery and truth.
No comment on the last paragraph its just silly..
Willage nothing personal I respect your opinions.. I would have preferred you offer to fleet up and assist.. I would have paid you well and the offer is still open.. Its always good to build alliances rather than make enemies no? We would have both gained more materially than all of this chatter about game rules.
See you in the cold emptiness of Eve space.. lol

Whatever you say Asuri I dont have the energy to chase you and a thousand others > grins
I am not comparing Eve to World of Warcraft, in fact I have never played it.. Short of a 10 dollar word im sure there is some good in their VERY successful proggy. Thats just common sense and the opinoin of 12 million subscribers.
I make no claim to know what ccp is thinking, that is wise wouldnt you say ?
You fail to see the benefit in segregation of game function so my topic will never make sense to you, ever.. All is not white here..(pvp)
** As i said I've done my deed as messenger here.. bbye

P.s In the light of intelligence and improvement, encourage other players to openly express their views as I do and value differing opinion in the light of discovery.. there is nothing more ignorant than a closed mind..

Nephilius nailed it I believe.. and people dont like change..
Evelgrivion - Yes I was serious but knew it was a radical and controversial topic.. one of those where you drop it and run lol..
The content of the thread has gone abit astray.. Below is the note I submitted to CSM. --------------------------------- CCP or representative
Topic: Severe interference while running (private) missions.
Problem: When running missions I and others are being interfered with by real players. Some players are becoming a nuisance and will cause the mission to fail by repeated harassement. I'm referring to the vandalistic individuals camping out in the mission locations. Some even hint to extort isk to let you complete. One instance in particular, I am running a storyline mission and am being prevented to complete it.. short of bringing in a militia of my own to combat real opponents. The intruder asked for 60 million isk to let me complete ! In normal gameplay I would say he needs commended for his crafty strategy.. but to trap people in missions, he should not be allowed to abuse the gaming system.. (His profile mentions the trap and even brags about it)
Discussion: Some argue that an open universe is what eve is all about. I agree totally in normal gameplay.. Eve is the best game out there for economics both financial and strategic.. But in missions I strongly disagree that this open universe concept applies as its more like player against environment. The typical scenario I use to explain this is as follows - ask yourself when running a "Storyline" mission does it sound correct to be ganked by 5 real players? What part of the intended story was that? You will have a hard time convincing me that being ganked by 5 real players is a part of the "kiddnappers strike" mission. By the way CCP did a great job writing the mission (if others were prevented from messing it up). The mission was well balanced with my skills until these 5 players interferred. The last round of harrasment cost me one awesome maelstrom plus about 300 million (or more)in lost augmentations and ship equipment. I would not mind the loss if it had been in PvP where I accepted the risk openly.
Proposal: My proposal is to create "instances" where the person granted the mission and his chosen fleet can compete with the intended opponents >> NPC players only.. I love to fight real people, but not while in missions please. I am trying hard to raise faction standing and I want focus on that while running these missions that entail many hours and a great deal of dedication to complete. This concept is the same as Concord policing in high sec..
Please dont get me wrong > CCP has done a wonderful job with this game, genius in fact. I merely bring this subject to attention so that the game may be more enjoyable and fair..
Thank you,

I wouldnt say "Never" Evil.. as none of us has perfect wisdom. But like what we sit on each of us has an opinion..
I am tiring of this thread or I would ask you to define precisely why you believe missions should not be private.
Im not complaining to any "degree" its called discussion.. I'm not trying to be a wiseazz to you but to clarify my intent here, its not to complain but to discuss..
I solved the problem with mercenaries that cost 50 mil.. so tell me I don't know game mechanics.. lol Thats abit pricey to run missions I think.. ludicrous actually.

Hi Kiki,
Only problem is we all want the challenging NPC missions too. In fact the higher level missions that I qualify for train me to join you hellraisers in 0.0 someday.. Did you know this was my ultimate goal to train so that I may be a worthy opponent?
When I was very new to the game I learned the most about the finer points of ship loadouts and how to tweak weapons all in these npc missions. Gave me the chance to field test AST and PST the best hybrid mix etc.. Tried some corps when I was first starting out, but found the eve designers trained me much better in carefully laid out missions. These ccp folk are sharp, im just suggesting that outsiders not be allowed to mess up the neatly laid out missions.
By now you all know my opinion so apologies for beating it to death. I'm just responding to kiki
